The January introduction of a new retro bedroom cabinet line will help Danish furniture producer Steens to grow sales by around 20 per cent this year.

Management at the Kjellerup based producer — which operates a wholly owned UK subsidiary in Hampshire — said its new Soft Line programme of chests and bedside cabinets had been a huge success since its launch at IMM Cologne.

Steens told Danish furniture trade journal Wood Supply that it had enjoyed a strong sell-in period with Soft Line at major Scandinavian chains including Idemøbler, ILVA, Norway’s Bohus and Sweden’s Mio.

Sales — estimated at around £25m–£35m — will climb around a fifth this year as a result, with the firm targeting a doubling of revenue in the long term.
