A series of rights issues during 2015 have bolstered luxury online interiors and lifestyle retailer Amara Living, with a new chairman also having joined this autumn.

Stefan Cassar, formerly CFO at department store group House of Fraser and a non-executive director at bed and bath retailer Soak & Sleep, took up the chairmanship in September.

Angel investor Ivor Dunbar also joined the Essex based business, in a non-executive capacity, earlier in the year.

The retailer—set up in 2005 by interior designer Sam Hood together with husband and business partner Andrew Hood—is understood to have taken on new investment during 2015, with total shareholder backing reaching £8.4m.

Amara Living sells across multiple categories including furniture, bed and bath, lighting, lifestyle and gifts and is estimated to have sales approaching £10m.
