Flooring chains Tapi Carpets & Floors and Carpetright are among a number of retailers eyeing stores of the bought-out shoe retailer Brantano, according to trade journal Retail Week.

It reported the fast-expanding Tapi business as having an interest in 8–10 stores with Carpetright looking at an unspecified number.

Footwear retailer Brantano entered administration last month. Investment firm Alteri has since acquired 81 of its stores along with a further 59 concession.

That left 57 remaining shops, with — besides Carpetright and Tapi — Iceland, Poundworld and Pets At Home named as other retailers interested in the jettisoned sites.
