Earnings reached a three-year high as Midlands furniture wholesaler Heartlands racked up record sales in the year to end May.

The Birmingham based volume furniture supplier made £790,711 before tax, up 9.6 per cent on the previous year and its strongest since the £1.1m made in 2011–12.

That was on sales of £10.1m, which Heartlands surpassed in the 2014–15 trading period with turnover reaching £10.3m.

This was a rise of 11.9 per cent year-on-year and reversed two successive prior year declines. Net assets advanced by £500,000 to £5.9m.
