EAST MIDLANDS mattress maker Vogue Beds has spent £200,000 on machinery and vehicles, kickstarting a concerted series of investments.

The Barwell, Leicester based company says its initial outlay is part of a plan to invest £1.2 million over the next five years in all.

In a press release announcing the spend, Vogue said it had acquired two new Iveco vehicles to add to its existing fleet, increasing delivery capacity and improving service.

It has also purchased a Bordtac series 2 border machine for exclusive use on its Hampton collection, as well as a new tape-edging machine with a larger table for making custom-sized mattresses.
