A LANCASHIRE textiles group that manufactures and wholesales bedding and soft furnishings has been sold out of administration, saving over 100 jobs.

Newco Bolton Textiles (Group) Limited has acquired Cliq Designs; J.H Cunliffe & Company; Bolton Textiles; and Inhome Soft Furnishings, all of which were placed into administration through RSM Restructuring Advisory on May 23.

Joshua Dawson is the sole launch director and shareholder of the acquisition vehicle, which is believed to have agreed financial backing through IGF Invoice Finance.

All the other companies—based across two sites at Bolton and Rochdale—were owned by either Philip or Judith Dawson, who were also directors of the four businesses.

The companies make and sell furnishings spanning bedlinen such as sheets, pillowcases and quilt covers through to curtains, cushions and quilted fabrics.

Joint administrator Jeremy Woodside said: "The deal saves a group of historic Lancashire manufacturers, which is not only great news for the 102 employees and the wider Lancashire economy, but it ensure continuity to the companies’ loyal customers."

The companies had suffered challenging trading conditions due to increased competition as well as cashflow problems, RSM said in a statement, following a query by The Furnishing Report last Friday.
