Mattress brand Casper has disclosed the value of its initial investment in its UK business in just-filed holding company accounts.

They suggest the U.S business provided £5.52 million in venture capital to its UK and Germany subsidiaries as it launched here two years ago.

Casper, considered by some the bed-in-a-box pioneer that inspired a series of rival operators with similar business models, gave up little further detail.

The holding company owed £5.6 million to other companies in the New York headquartered group at its December 31, 2016 year-end.
