Shipments from China fell 21 percent year-on-year
Imports of wood living, dining and bedroom cabinet declined in May with across-the-board falls from leading Asia supply routes.


Britain imported 5.3 percent less during the month year-on-year, bringing in £92.7 million of goods in all.

The amount shipped from China declined 21 percent to £24.6 million, almost twice the rate of the year-to-date drop-off (-12pc).

HMRC data, compiled by The Furnishing Report, showed Vietnamese and Malaysian shipments also declined, by 6.8 percent and 0.7 percent respectively.
