International furniture retailer Roche Bobois has raised about €20 million after offering around 10 percent of the business to investors via an IPO earlier this month.

The until now family-owned company, which besides its flagship brand also operates a French leather upholstery chain called Cuir Center, has listed on the Euronext Paris exchange, selling a limited number of shares to institutional and retail investors.

The high-end French business operates a network of 329 stores worldwide, of which more than 170 are based outside its homeland, including several in London, South East England and Manchester.

The shares were offered at €20 per share, giving it a market capitalisation of around €198 million on the day of its IPO on July 9. Its shares had gained 11 percent in value by yesterday.

Its principal British subsidiary booked net income of £771,933 on revenue of £16.7 million here in 2016. Accounts for last year for its UK business are due this autumn.
