Profits jumped by nearly a third for Atlantic
Online furniture retailer Atlantic Shopping, which majors in dining furniture including bar stools, chairs and tables, made nearly 20 percent net as sales advanced double-digit last year.
Atlantic, the trading name of the Laroiya-family owned VN & Britannic Warehouses business, posted net income up 30 percent to £3.9 million in the year to end December 2017.
Sales jumped 10 percent to £20.1 million for the Birmingham based company, which besides dining also carries a line of upholstered, timber and metal bed frames.
Atlantic said it had focused on cost savings as margins widened. The company generated £3.8 million of its sales (2016: £4.1m) outside the UK.
Operating cash inflow topped £4 million for the second year straight with year-end cash advancing to £3.9 million (2016: £2.5m) after the payment of shareholder dividends.
