James Sturrock starts at Eve Sleep on September 10
Direct-to-consumer bedding brand Eve Sleep has appointed Moonpig md James Sturrock as CEO. He replaces Jas Bagniewski, who left the business earlier this year.

Mr Sturrock, who before joining Moonpig held senior roles within the Direct Line Insurance group, starts at the London based mattress and bedding company a week today (Sep. 10).

At online greetings card, flower and gift company Moonpig, he "delivered four consecutive years of double-digit revenue and EBITDA growth and led the successful rebranding of the business in 2017," Eve said in a stock market statement.

Abid Ismail, who has been interim CEO since Jas Bagniewski's abrupt departure, returns to his former role heading up Eve's finance function as CFO.

Eve has also hired marketing expect Nikki Crumpton as senior independent non-executive director, replacing Peter Hepworth, who has decided to step down.

Ms Crumpton is founder of brand and communications consultancy The Active Strategist and has previously held senior roles within international agencies including McCann Worldgroup.

Chairman Paul Pindar describes the two appointments as "a major coup" for the emerging beds business, which will update the market on half-year numbers on September 20.
