Emerging upholstery business Arlo & Jacob will follow up its summer showroom launch at Bristol with a new store at Harrogate, its first in the North of England.

It has taken the former Maplin unit at West Park in the North Yorkshire spa town in what will become its largest showroom yet, md Nick Wasey told The Furnishing Report via email last week.

Sized at 5,760sqft, the showroom is the second to open in short order, following its recent launch at Bristol (see images, above and below), and its third in all. It launched with a Fulham store in London back in 2015.

"We’re into week three of trading in Bristol and so far so good. We’re very pleased with the reception the store is getting and with trade over the Bank Holiday weekend," Mr Wasey said.

Arlo & Jacob, part of the JDP Furniture Group, is looking to expand the business by opening showrooms nationwide over the next two years.

Of Harrogate, Mr Wasey added that the business was currently in the fit-out phase with the aim of opening early autumn.
