Online home sales lifted 12 per cent last week to help total category revenue beat year-earlier trade at department store John Lewis.


The retailer said beds and bedroom furniture were the strongest performing ecommerce categories, helping total year-on-year Home revenue inch 0.4 per cent ahead in the seven days to 9th May.


Total sales for the week across all categories were up 1.1 per cent to £72.6m with Electricals and Home Technology up 3.7 per cent to beat the year-to-date trend (-1.9pc).


Across stores and online, Home Accessories and Gifts were up 6 per cent and Textiles & Carpets up 5 per cent. The key drivers within Home Accessories and Gifts were Outdoor Living (10pc), Gift Food Seasonal (9pc), and Lighting (8pc).
