Major Danish case goods manufacturer Steens Group said it enjoyed solid revenue growth in the UK through 2014.

The Kjellerup based furniture producer — which has a sales office in Hampshire — cited both the UK and Germany as key revenue drivers last year.

Without disclosing turnover or a geographical breakdown, the firm said gross profit increased from by 12.3m kr to 63.7m kr (about £6.3m) year-on-year.

Based on the gross margin of similar businesses, the Furnishing Report estimates Steens sales to be equivalent to around £25m–£35m.

Operating profit dropped 7 per cent to 6m kr (£588k) though lower finance costs in 2014 compared to the prior year meant pre-tax profits were up 8 per cent at 3.7m kr (£364k).
