Timothy Oulton, the founder and chief executive officer of the Halo and Timothy Oulton furniture and interiors design, manufacturing, wholesale and retail group, has died.


Mr Oulton's death, aged 55, was announced Friday morning by the global furniture group in a statement, which paid tribute to his enduring legacy of creativity, excellence and authenticity.

"It’s with immeasurable sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Timothy Oulton, founder and CEO of Halo and Timothy Oulton. We extend our deepest sympathies to the entire family and the wider Halo community around the globe. Our priority at this time is to take care of those impacted by this unexpected loss and respecting the family’s request for privacy as they grieve. 

"Tim's legacy of creativity, excellence and authenticity will endure. These principles—and an ongoing commitment to the company’s growth agenda—will guide our leadership team as we move forward and drive continued success for the business. "

Halo CFO James Dilley has stepped into the role of interim CEO with an "immediate focus to ensure the continuity of the business  in  delivering against our growth strategy and preserving the high standards of creativity and quality that our customers have come to expect from us while fostering the unique culture that Halo is known for," the statement continued.

"We continue to draw strength from a deep bench of leaders with a  comprehensive understanding of our business and the industry at large. With  over 70 retail locations and distribution in more than 60 countries, five global manufacturing hubs, and more than 350 team members across a dozen countries, we are well placed to continue to deliver on Tim’s vision for success and long-term growth."

Mr Dilley said: "This is an incredibly sad time for the entire Halo community, and my heart is with the family as we mourn this loss. In the weeks and months ahead, I am fully committed to honouring Tim's legacy in the way I know best – by supporting our teams, executing against Tim’s ambition for the business and driving innovative, sustainable growth for our future.
