Off-price furniture and homeware retailer Homesense plans to rebuild U.K. store numbers with the opening of a new store north of London, its first since the pandemic started.

Deficit at department store group — a major U.K. retailer of furniture — was the result of falling sales, but also heavily impacted by a series of non-cash charges, and credits.

The Home directorate was top of the tree as Christmas gifts and decorations drove sales at John Lewis in the seven days to 22nd November.

Home improvement retailer B&Q said sales of showroom merchandise — its kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms offer — declined in its third quarter.
