Luxury kitchens retailer Harvey Jones posted record January sales and says it is bumping up its advertising spend by a fifth to capitalise further.


The vertically integrated firm said it grew sales by 15 per cent year-on-year last month, marking the strongest January performance in its 37 year history.


Harvey Jones, which now trades from 31 stores after opening its latest showroom in Milton Keynes, is looking to build on 11 per cent growth to £17.2m in the year to end December. Like-for-like sales through 2014 rose 2.6 per cent.


CEO John Curwen said: “To help us continue on this trajectory in 2015, we have increased our advertising budget by 20 per cent and are launching our first television ad campaign in the coming months.”
