Freudenberg, GER. — UK sales increased for major European bedroom producer Rauch in 2012–13 though exports and total sales were down against the previous year.

Year to end June 2013 sales declined 7.8 per cent to just over €282m for the German cabinet furniture group, with domestic sales down 9.3 per cent to €194.2m and exports by 4.4 per cent to €88.2m.

It didn’t provide a sales breakdown by market but said while some countries saw declines of up to 30 per cent, the UK — together with France, Belgium and Switzerland — was in positive year-on-year territory.

The accounts were signed off late last year but were only in the public domain through the German equivalent of Companies House in recent weeks.
