carpetsWholesaleWholesale giant Headlam has added one the country’s largest remaining independent carpet distributors to its growing roster of businesses in a deal worth £2m.

The Tamworth headquartered group has agreed to buy Birmingham based Matty’s Wholesale Carpets for £1.9m upfront with another £100k once the value of net assets are verified.

Matty’s had sales of around £4.3m in 2014, and will retain autonomous control of sales and marketing following the deal, in keeping with Headlam’s modus operandi.

The acquisition completed last Friday. Logistics for Matty’s moving forward will be provided by Headlam’s group facility in Coleshill.
