ECOMMERCE nursery and childrens’ furniture retailer Gigi Brooks has been sold out of administration to a company owned by Maggie & Rose, a family members club.

The Louth, Lincolnshire based retailer was set up in 2014, selling premium furniture and interior design products aimed at wealthy parents and high net-worth individuals worldwide.

It had made a loss of £224,442 in 2015–16 on sub-£500,000 sales, and was sold following the appointment of Duff and Phelps as administrators on 19th December.

The buyer is a previously dormant company called Maggie & Rose (Merchandising) Limited (MRM), which will pay a total consideration under £50,000. Its four employees will also be kept on as part of the sale.

MRM is owned by Maggie & Rose Limited, a London based family members club running nurseries, classes, camps and kids’ parties. Former Gigi Brooks Limited director Daniel Fenn, and Meng Kwan — one of its two current listed directors — are both shareholders in Maggie & Rose Limited.
