WINDOW dressings and carpet company Hillarys has been acquired by global conglomerate Hunter Douglas for £300 million from Ares Capital Management.

The deal bring the heritage Nottinghamshire based maker and retailer of blinds, and more recently carpets, into the vast Hunter Douglas empire.

Hillarys—which generated sales of around £185 million last year—will continue to be run as a standalone business with management also to remain unchanged.

Hunter Douglas—headquartered in Rotterdam—has a vast global business spanning 130 window dressings and architectural products companies based in 100 countries worldwide.

Its existing U.K. businesses include Luxaflex U.K., Amo, Faber Blinds U.K., Thomas Sanderson, Eclipse Blinds and Hunter Douglas (Sunflex).
