Yorkshire beds group Harrison Spinks has launched a dedicated Contract division headed up by one of the sector’s most experienced executives.

The vertically integrated Leeds manufacturer will launch the bed collection to hoteliers at the Sleep Event in London later this month, following a preview at the Independent Hotel Show last month.

Former Silentnight group contracts director Stephen Truswell is heading up Harrison Spinks Contracts as contract sales director. Mr Truswell has also held a similar post at textiles business SMD.

He said: “We wanted to push the boundaries and go where no other contract bed manufacturer has gone before. Using our unique spring technology, we have created a beautiful bed range with the highest spring counts available to the hospitality market, providing guests with a great night’s sleep night after night.”

A range of beds from both the Harrison and Somnus brands will be offered under the Harrison Spinks Contracts Division. Besides mattress and bed manufacturing, Harrison Spinks also designs and makes its own springs and grows it owns fillings on its farm, a short drive from its Leeds factory.

The company’s spring technology has also seen the firm begin supplying other industries, including the nursery, automotive and footwear sectors.
