Belgium headquartered textiles group Bekaert — supplier to many UK mattress manufacturers — has been sold by one investment group to another.

Gamma Holding — jointly owned by European private equity houses Gilde Buy Out Partners and Parcom Capital — has sold its stake in Bekaert to German based investment firm Haniel.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Management, staff and strategy at Waregem based Bekaert Textiles — a global mattress ticking manufacturer with sales around €200m — are unchanged and business continues as usual.

Haniel is headquartered in Duisberg and its other interests include shareholdings in international retail group Metro and the UK cash and carry wholesale business Makro.
