tapiNewMaldenFloorcoverings retailer Tapi Carpets & Floors will pass 30 stores with openings in the next few weeks, and has named another 16 locations where it plans to open this year.


The retailer — currently trading from 27 stores — is planning new shops at Irvine, Poole, Swindon and Wolverhampton. It is also close to opening a store at Abbotsinch, Glasgow, which has been on its radar since last autumn.


Its latest batch of planned stores will bring the chain, run by former Carpetright director Martin Harris and part-owned by DFS founder Lord Kirkham, to 32. The business launched its first shop, in Tooting, in May 2015.


Its most recent store openings have been at Aberdeen, Edmonton, Falkirk, Livingston, New Malden, Northampton, Telford and Thurrock.


Tapi has also named a further 16 locations where it plans to open stores in 2016, including eight more sites in Scotland.
