Wood flooring distributor V4 grew profits 70 per cent as it maintained its top-line momentum in the year to end October.

The Surrey based company — which last month opened its first distribution centre outside the South East — made £840k at the pre-tax line, its strongest result since 2010 (£950k).

Privately owned V4 opened a warehouse at Castle Donington, near East Midlands Airport, in June as it looks to build out sales further.

Revenue increased 4 per cent to £9.5m in 2013–14, with the business having grown sales each year since 2009 (£5.7m), the first year it disclosed turnover since its inception in 2002.
