Broadening its product range into luxury wooden window blinds will pay dividends according to distributor Gordon John Textiles, after a strong sell-in to independent retailers.

The Warrington based group—which owns the Sundour and Style Furnishings brands—said early sales results from its diversification had been positive, with it expected to contribute significantly to both its top and bottom lines this year.

Gordon John is looking to build on 2.6 per cent growth to £8.8m in the year to end March 2015. Gross margin declined by 80 basis points to 32.6 per cent with pre-tax earnings falling 13.1 per cent to £239,862.

The business generated a net £338,834 (2014: £283,563) cash from operations and cut year-end net debt to £168,893 (2014: £195,071).
