THE NORTH West company behind the Clarke & Clarke and Studio G soft furnishings brands posted a sixth straight top line increase in 2015, and record profits.

Year to end December sales rose 11.6 percent to £19.9 million for Haslingden registered Globaltex Ltd, the closely held fabrics and wallpaper distributor which sells its wares in 90 countries worldwide.

Its latest revenue increase was its sixth in a row and means sales have more than trebled since 2008, when they totalled £6.5 million.

Sales were up 7.2 percent in the UK to £12.4 million, with growth of 17.9 percent in other EU countries to £2.9 million, an uplift of 35.5 percent in the US to £1.7 million and of 13 percent to £2.9 million in what it classed as non-EU sales.

2015 pretax profits were up 28.9 per cent to £4.3 million, driven by higher sales but also a 290 basis point improvement in gross margin to 43.5 percent.

Year end cash totalled £1.8 million (2014: £1.7 million) with shareholder funds rising to £10 million (2014: £6.8 million) at the 31st December 2015 balance sheet date.
