Northern Ireland furnishings manufacturer Decora is to build on strong recent growth by investing heavily expanding its workforce.

A recruitment drive at the Lisburn company — which manufactures window blinds under various brands including Sunwood and Timberlux — will add around 80 jobs as part of a total seven-figure investment.

That would take staff numbers well beyond the current 500 for the firm, which is also receiving £240,000 to support its plans from Invest NI. Decora operates across 225,000sqft of premises at its head office in Northern Ireland, as well as in Birmingham.

Privately owned Decora has nearly doubled sales since 2010 and grew its top line by almost £7m in 2014 to over £39m. Profits jumped 46 per cent to £3.4m.
