OFFICE furniture company GGI has been placed into administration and ceased trading with all 99 of its employees facing redundancy.

Mark Getliffe and Diane Hill of CLB Coopers were appointed joint administrators of GGI Office Furniture (UK) Limited following extensive attempts to sell the Darwen, Lancashire based business.

No firm offers were made for the company, which has racked up losses of over £3.3 million combined over the past four reported years as sales dropped from £12.2 million in 2012 to £9.5 million to May 31, 2015, its latest published accounts.

GGI is the UK division of Global Furniture Group, a worldwide business headquartered in Toronto, Canada. It is not known if GFG has other UK interests.

CLB Coopers are endeavouring to sell GGI's assets for the benefit of creditors, about whom no information has yet been publicly disclosed.
