THE NORTH East furniture chain trading as Beautiful Homes has restructured for a second time in eight months and is expected to rebrand as FDS.

Business partners Brian Baker and Richard Burke have set up a new company—each holding a 50 percent stake—with the one-time eight-store retailer having already updated its Facebook page with its new logo featuring its new FDS fascia.

Mr Burke has also last month registered the website url FDSonline.co.uk with the domain registrar, though the URL presently reroutes to the existing Beautiful Homes website*.

FDS, which stands for Furniture Discount Stores, will supersede its predecessors—Beautiful Homes (Newcastle) Limited and Brizel Limited—which sequentially traded the Beautiful Homes fascia in the North East. Both companies were liquidated, in December and August respectively, leaving creditors owed north of £1 million combined (see related).

It is not known how many, if any, of the Beautiful Homes stores it will trade from moving forward and none of the management could be reached when The Furnishing Report called.
