UK sales were up double-digit for West Elm, whose UK stores include its TCR flagship
West Elm, which has three UK stores and sells on a wholesale basis through John Lewis, made revenue gains here in the first quarter of its 2018–19 financial year.

 

Without providing figures, CEO Laura Alber said its UK revenue was up double-digit in the three months to end April, buoyed by its new White City store and the Kingston unit opened last December.


Including its domestic U.S market and other international markets such as Australia and Canada, total West Elm sales worldwide were up 9.0 percent compared with the equivalent period a year ago.


West Elm is part of Williams-Sonoma, which also owns furniture and homeware retailer Pottery Barn. The group is launching the Pottery Barn Kids brand in the UK in the second of 2018.


Williams-Sonoma recorded pretax profits of $65.3 million (£49m) on revenue up 8.2 percent to $1.2 billion (£900m) in the first three months of the 2018–19 financial year.
