Furniture and home retailer Barker and Stonehouse is to relocate its Yorkshire outlet store later this month.

The privately owned company will open a 10,000sqft unit on the Clifton Moor Retail Park in York. The shop is to replace its outlet store on the edge of Knaresborough.

As part of Barker and Stonehouse’s £3m investment in a new purpose built 35,000sqft site in Knaresborough in 2012, it retained half of its former leased unit which it used as an outlet store.

The lease on that store is now expiring, with another retailer expected to open a shop there. Barker and Stonehouse md James Barker said the Clifton Moor unit would open within the next month.

Separately, launch plans for Barker and Stonehouse’s circa 50,000sqft state-of-the-art furniture store and HQ at the entrance to Teesside Retail Park are being finalised. Mary Berry, star of The Great British Bake Off, will open the store on 28th March.
