Two-store furniture, leisure and household goods retailer ESK saw sales and profits drop in the year to end February.


The privately owned retailer posted pre-tax earnings down 18 per cent to £94k on sales of £8.3m, a fall of 1.8 per cent on the previous year.


ESK trades from stores in Eastbourne and Hastings. At the EBIT line — before interest on loans from its owners — ESK posted profits of £227k (2013: £245k).


The co-owners and directors also own the cabinet furniture wholesale business Wiseaction, based at St. Leonards-on-Sea in East Sussex.
