Consumers paid less for their furniture in February but retailers and wholesalers had no such luck, with no change to manufacturing output price inflation.

Last month’s figure for furniture prices at the factory gate remained static at +0.8 per cent according to the Office for National Statistics, the same — now revised — figure recorded in January.

That’s because January’s originally recorded 1 per cent figure was subject to a downwards revision by ONS with the release of February’s data.

Across all manufacturing sectors, the producer price index remained in negative territory, though January’s 1.9 per cent year-on-year price decline narrowed to a 1.8 per cent fall in February.
